Kavana is a self-taught photographer. "Through a series of life-changing events nine years ago and a generous gift of a camera by my sister, I have come to see the world through a 'new set of glasses,'" he said.
He now has over 50,000 images in his collection.
"My subjects are almost always random people living life," Kavana said. "They are images in which I have hoped to capture the emotion or in some instances the soul of a person."
The studio will be collecting food for a local food pantry, to show support of the subject matter. "Please help out those who are less fortunate," organizers note.

Additional studio hours are from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, Saturday, Sept. 20, Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28.
